Energy Efficiency
"The energy efficiency components built into
the Villas have dramatically lowered my utility
expenses. My main level garage, a unique
feature of townhomes in this area, while
contributing to the energy efficiency of the
Villa, also enables me to enter or leave my
Villa during inclement weather without having
to get in or out of my car."

ENERGY STAR™ is a joint program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy helping us all save money and protect the environment through the use of energy efficiency products and practices. Americans, with the help of ENERGY STAR™, saved over $16 BILLION dollars on their utility bills in 2007 alone.
High utility bills in summer and winter can be traced to air leaks in your home's envelope. Up to 50% of heating and cooling energy in most homes is lost because air infiltrates through framing joints and wall penetrations.
The developer / builder of Sleepy Oak Park Villas addressed this issue during construction by including the Nelligan Insulation Air Seal Package in each Villa for years of comfort and affordable living through this and other energy efficient practices.
In addition, the exterior of the Villas are clad with Brick, an inherently maintenance-free material. Brick's high thermal capacity contributes to the energy efficiency of the building, absorbing heat slowly during the daytime and releasing it slowly during the night.
Other ENERGY STAR™ qualified features of each Villa -
Insulated windows with special (Low-e) coatings,
Carrier heating and air conditioning systems,
Kitchen appliances,
Entrance doors, including insulated garage doors
- All contributing to lower utility bills
